Your highness crown prince of fair litany i um i am sir andal of risenfort and i am uh um well the queens appointed me as your personal guard um my my prince oh oh uh pardon me your highness i'm i'm just uh i really not very good and uh you know um conversation especially those who i don't know very well or um those who hold immense power over my faith oh um sorry i i that was out of line wasn't it oh uh please forgive me my prince i i don't mean that as a condemnation i'm i'm just nervous i i assure you i will do everything i can to protect you how long have i been a knight oh well i've been a knight for just a few months not to boast but i have been told i am quite prolific with a sword i am um i'm quite a capable knight so you you are in safe hands my leads oh well then uh i am very honored to be your protector and i am humbled by your kindness towards me as i stumble over my words like a bumbling fool i assure you i am far more graceful in combat than than in words uh speech speech i mean i'm i'm terribly sorry i this is quite improper um my brass claims about my skill at swordplay without even um uh sorry i'm not sure i was i'm not sure where i was going with that my prince um if i may be so bold your highness you have quite the reputation for kindness yet as i pass in your presence all i have heard pales in comparison to the extent of your kindness towards me and my clumsy tongue i'm your humble servant um yet you patiently wait for me to uh oh well to complete my sentences you embolden me my leads to continue speaking um even through the stammering and the awkwardness i swear to you my prince that you have my utmost loyalty and furthermore my devotion i shall wield my blade to protect you and yours oh uh hey well yes i have the pledge memorized no one stammers if their words are made certain ahead of time at least at least that's what i've heard i i do apologize for my my awkward demeanor i'm not as well versed in decorum as most nobles are i was not raised as a noble though i am one by birth it um it's it's not something i feel connection to most of the time i didn't even know for the first 10 years of my life and i didn't begin training as a knight until i was already a already an adult my father did not speak of his childhood very often well i spent most of my childhood in luar i am half luausian on my mother's side at least um my father was a litanian noble but he was very content with his uh with his sister taking over his estate so he could live with um with my mother oh yes yes i'm i'm rather new to tatrak city i uh i was actually trained in ruak i i moved uh i moved here as part as the treaty last year um as a show of good faith your mothers i i mean the queens were allowed to handpick whichever knight they wanted and i suppose they picked me i uh i assume it was in part because of how uh awkward i am they uh uh um perhaps it makes me more trustworthy oh yes yes i was very quite surprised when the queens also uh chose me to be your personal guard i may be quite skilled at swordplay but i i was hardly the only knight in the running oh uh certainly oh well there's sir embra uh she's she's more than capable and i know she expressed an interest in the position oh not not not that i didn't i just i wasn't expecting to get it then there's sir malik he seemed to be the best candidate but um i heard he got married recently and he personally asked to be transferred to be a guard at his new wife's hometown very sweet of him if i may be very blunt sir mattis is also quite a skilled knight um not only that but uh he's honestly far better at um conversation his decorum is easily comparable to that of a nobility of of all people to be given this honor i didn't expect to be actually chosen i um i thought it can hurt to add my name to the list of candidates but with the other knights i feel like i won't even pass the consideration although um queen elnora told me i was um oh damn i'd say what was it that she said um uniquely suited to your needs or um something something to that effect i personally still don't understand what she meant by that don't understand what she meant by that oh uh you look tense all of a sudden my prince um well was it sorry did i say something wrong ah um all right if you're certain i um uh um i'm not actually sure what i'm supposed to do now my liege i know i meant to stay by your side but um is is there anything in particular you require of your humble knight my prince ah okay uh then um then i will simply remain here to keep your company and and to protect you uh should the need arise.
