I know you made reservations for two but you checked in alone... Wanna talk about it?
Sorry to disturb you. I was just checking to see if you'd made dinner plans. Oh, okay.
Well, I mean, if you need a restaurant recommendation, um, or I guess a place to order in from, or, I mean, you have the whole place to yourself, so I could even cook for you. I mean, I don't really know if you'd want me to cook for you, but I could try it. Yeah, just, I remembered when you checked in, you said you, you know, you're from kind of far away, and it can be kind of tough to find spots around here, so I'm happy to give you my little list.
No, it has been, and I hope you've been liking the place. It is. It's a really great place to spend the new year.
I mean, it's warmer than most of the country, and these hot springs out here in the desert, gosh, there's nothing like that, is it? And how were they? Were the baths too hot? Okay, okay, good.
Yeah, I mean, 106, you know, I'm really a 107 guy. I like them pretty warm, but I'm really happy they were perfect for you. And do you have enough towels? You don't need a fresh robe, do you? Okay, good.
Just want to make sure you're enjoying your stay. And I don't know, I like taking care of people. And I wanted you to have a really, really nice time.
Well, of course, I want all of my guests to have a nice time. But I did notice that when you made this reservation, and you made it for two, and there's, of course, nothing wrong with traveling solo. Heck, I mean, when I fell in love with this place, I visited here in December by myself, too.
But I don't know, with the way you've been carrying yourself, you seem a little bit down, and I kind of put it all together. So I don't know, I've just been taking some extra special care to make sure you're having a nice time, that you feel taken care of. I mean, I don't know, it's just you and I here, and it is New Year's.
So I figured if we're going to ring it in, well, let's at least do it with a smile, having a good time, right? Well, and hey, if you can look up at the stars in a desert hot spring, shoulders relaxing, taking a nice deep breath, and forgetting about whatever you left behind, all the more better way to ring in this year. Totally.
Good, good, good, good. I'm glad you've been having a good time. I mean, you know, quite honestly, all I've really wanted to do since I've seen you is give you a big hug.
I don't know. I guess maybe it's a damsel in distress thing, but I don't know, just looking at your face, and when you cast your eyes down, it looks like you're really hurting. So I mean, I don't want to impose, but would you like me to come in? I mean, do you want to talk? Just maybe sit down? Okay, good.
And do you mind? Okay. And that's fine.
You can come sit next to me, yeah. So I take it things didn't end well. And I guess it was kind of recent, too.
Well, I'm really sorry to hear that. But I mean, I am glad you came to stay. I'm glad you didn't cancel.
Well, I mean, I mean, of course, I mean, it's always great to have a guest here. I could always use the money. But you know, I did think you were really pretty.
Oh, well, thank you. Oh, that's fine. You can scoot up next to me here.
Do you mind if I put my arm around you like this? Okay. Okay, good.
And that's nice. Isn't it nice to just sit close to someone? Well, yeah.
I mean, it can. It can get really lonely, certain parts of the year anyway. I mean, the holidays, there aren't tons of people who are out here at the Desert Hot Springs.
I don't know. Like I said, the first time I came out here, it was a December just like this years ago. And I kind of just started my business and had some things happen.
And I came out here alone. And I don't know, the warm water and the clear skies, the billions of stars, and you can even see the Milky Way. It helped me find some peace.
Helped me kind of center myself a little bit. And I don't know, I was hoping maybe it could do the same for you. Well, good.
Now, I don't know if it's proper host-guest etiquette, but I was wondering if I could just give you a little kiss on the cheek. OK. How's that? Does it feel good to have some friendly lips? It's good to have a friendly cheek, that's for sure.
There's a smile. And I don't think I've seen one yet. Not a real one, anyway.
Not one that you didn't put on. Good. Why don't you give me those lips, huh? There you go, sweetheart.
Here, baby. Let me wrap my arms around you like this. It's nice to hold someone, because it does get a little lonely out here.
Ever since I lost my cat, I mean, it's just been me. You do feel so good next to me. And I have to admit, I've always thought about this.
Pretty girl traveling solo. Maybe she's looking for answers or looking for a little escape. Whatever it is, I'm happy you're here, sweetheart.
