The Empath💘

The hardest part about being an empath, that people can't perceive what you actually feel. And that's their emotions, their thoughts, or rather the feelings those thoughts give them. Like the lack of confidence that you know they can have, or the insincerity of the persona where sincerity is the key to everything.

Or, for example, the teacher when you're the kid in school and they tell your parents that your work could be so much better. And you're not upset that they've said that about your work, that's not where you're crying for. You can feel their frustration, you can feel their hurt, you can feel that they feel like they failed, or they're getting it wrong, or they're not getting through to you.

And that's what hurts, when you can feel what they're feeling. But I wouldn't stop being an empath, even though you can feel these things and thoughts and emotions and overwhelm as if it were happening to yourself in that moment over time. You can separate it, even hit the snooze button of it if you need a break.

But it has also taught me so much about where I need to be. The best bits about being an empath? Feeling that sincerity when it is right there in someone, so clear that it practically has its own light waiting to burst through.

And you just know the dominoes these people are setting off in all directions. And being given flash images of bright blue lights and trails and patterns forming. The really best bit about being an empath, right now, right this minute, is knowing that you're an empath too.

And that you can feel me. And that I can say, yes, I want you too. I want you too.
