Hello my sweet. I hope you are having a good Monday so far and I'd love for you to lie back, take a deep breath in and on the exhale close your eyes. And you can be sitting too if that's easier as you listen to this.
Whatever feels best for you in this moment, that's all I want. Because this is your time, our time together that I am truly thankful for. Today we are going to recite some affirmations to help comfort you in those anxious moments we all sometimes have.
For some it can be more often than not and for others they can tend to creep up on us when we least expect it. I know that happens to me from time to time and it gets a little bit frustrating. We would love to think we're past it right? We're past being anxious, we're over it and I'm understanding that the reality is that will probably never actually happen.
We may always have just a certain amount of anxious thoughts. The important thing to remember is that it's more than okay. It doesn't mean there's anything wrong with you or me or that we are being overly worried or anything like that.
It just means that in those moments we need to pause like you are now and regain control over our emotions and feelings. And I do know the more you practice this the easier it becomes. Personally I practice it each and every day and it's really taken a lot less time than I thought it would to change my thought speech.
To recognize and dismiss what is an anxious thought that does me no good or anyone else around me for that matter and what is a healthy thought. Once we can easily distinguish those it becomes so much easier and that's when even when you have those anxious moments you sort of laugh it off a little quicker and kind of spin round in the right direction with your thoughts and feelings and emotions and feel like you have a lot more control. So let's begin by taking another deep breath in and release.
And again deep breath in through the nose and out through the mouth. And we're gonna do one more and as you exhale on this one I want you to make an audible sound if you're in a place that you can. Really let out all that old stale air as well as any tension and negativity that might go with it.
Good. And now my love repeat these words. No matter what is happening around me I am always in control of my thoughts and feelings.
