That was one of the best stank dinners I've had in a while. Don't get me wrong, school stuff's nice and all, but having someone actually sear, baste and grill one to rare perfection is best. I remember summer grills and cookouts back home, one of the few things nice I get to hold on to, you know?
You do, huh? I bet you were thinking about me when you made reservations. Aside from my obvious, this is our six-month date and anniversary, it's real appreciated and very sweet of you.
I ought to do something nice for you too, I mean besides the pictures and videos I send to you. It's nice having that available to us, but it's a bit like we're in a long-distance relationship. One day we'll find a way to let you touch me, you know? It's hard as it is for you, it's a thousand times more frustrating for me.
I'm afraid you're going to run off with some gal you can actually put your mitts on. I know, I know it's not going to happen, but fear's still there. And we have tried alternatives, but you had to wear all those clothes and use coverings and well, you know, tools and it felt, well, it felt a little distant and artificial almost.
And we still accidentally touched for long enough for you to get a little bit singed on accident, we'll call it. I just don't really trust myself after that. I feel like it was my fault, you know? Despite what you're saying, it's kind of you to say so, but I'm just scared.
I always feel like I'm going to mess something up, you know? You too? Oh, I don't believe you.
You don't mess nothing up, sugar. You make mistakes, same as anybody else. But that's not exactly messing something up.
As someone who genuinely feels like they're going to break and ruin everything and everybody they lay their hands on, that's not you, baby. You're careful and kind and considerate, and you're always doing your best to help others, especially me. You're not even part of the X-Men either, and you don't have many powers, but you still do so much for everybody around you.
I mean, Professor X really keeps going on about how important that is and how the world would be a better place if we just got a few more people who know how to help one another, regardless of whether or not y'all got any mutations or powers or special mech suits.
