You're struggling through a panic attack and I'm right here with you, helping you through it, breathing with you, reminding you that you're safe, your feelings are valid, you're loved, and you will get through this. Focus on my voice, focus on breathing, one inhale, and exhale, at a time. You can do this. I believe in you. And I'll be with you every step of the way.
Baby, I want you to focus on my voice, okay? I know that your head is spinning with a million thoughts and you can't make it slow down right now, so I need you to focus on my voice, okay? I am right here with you, I've got you, you are safe, you are protected, you are cared for and we will get you through this, okay?
I want you to close your eyes, that's good, close your eyes. Now we're going to take some deep breaths just to get you a little more comfortable. I'm going to count in and out so we can get you some nice, slow, deep breaths, okay? Breathe with me, ready? We're going to breathe in, 1, 2, 3, 4, good.
Hold it for a second and out, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, good job. Excellent, let's try that one more time, okay? Breathe in, 1, 2, 3, 4, hold it for a second and breathe out, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, good.
Again, remember you are safe, you are protected, you are cared for. Now one of the things that I know when I feel like this helps is to remember that the things that are making your mind spin are valid but they are not everything, okay? It's okay to feel the way you feel, it's okay to think the thoughts that you think, but they do not own you, they do not run your life and they are not everything, okay?
We all feel how we feel, our feelings are 100% valid because you feel them for a reason. Unfortunately, your brain is just having a little bit of trouble processing so it goes into overdrive and it starts to spin faster and faster and faster like a hamster on a wheel. We're just going to slow the hamster down, okay? But that doesn't mean that everything that you're thinking is not perfectly valid, okay? If they're negative thoughts, I want you to remember how wonderful you are, okay? How much I love you, how much I want to be with you, how much I want to take care of you, okay? Remember that.
I'm going to tell you again and I want you to focus on my voice, okay? I love you, you are a wonderful person, I want to be with you, I want to take care of you, you deserve to be absolutely perfectly happy no matter what thoughts are racing through your head right now. It's absolutely okay to feel how you feel.
I want you to remember the facts as I just stated them because the facts are the important part. I love you, you are wonderful, I want to be with you, I want to take care of you, you are absolutely amazing. Remember that, okay? We're going to breathe again.
Ready? Close your eyes. Good.
Okay. And we're going to breathe in. One, two, three, four.
Hold it for a second. And breathe out. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight.
Good job. Good job. Let's go again.
Breathe in. One, two, three, four. Hold it for a second.
And breathe out. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. Good.
You're doing so well, I'm so proud of you for handling this. It takes a lot of strength to handle panic attacks like this, okay? That's what people don't realize.
When your body and your mind are telling you that you need help, it takes an incredible amount of strength to handle that, to get the help that you need, to reach out and to accept it. You are incredibly strong. You are capable and you are handling yourself beautifully, okay? Remember that.
Hold on to that. Not everybody can be as strong right now as you are. Not everybody can get through this the way you are.
You are doing amazing and I'm so proud of you. We're gonna breathe again, okay? We're gonna go in.
One, two, three, four. Hold it for a second. And out.
One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. Good job. Let's go one more.
And breathe in. One, two, three, four. Hold it for a second.
And breathe out. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. Awesome.
You're doing so well. I'm so proud of you. You're doing such a good job.
I want you to remember that when you feel like this, this is just a moment in time, okay? We all have moments where we feel out of control, where we feel like things are beyond what we can handle. And those moments don't feel that great, do they? No, they don't.
But what does feel great is when you overcome them and you can look back at them and say, I made it through. A lot of the time getting through those moments, my love, is just taking it one breath at a time, one minute at a time. That's all you have to do, is concentrate on the next minute, the next breath, and get through that one, then move on to the next little steps.
Take all the pressure off of you, okay? You are doing everything you need to do. You are doing it correctly, and I am so proud of you.
Great job. Excellent. I love you.
You are so cared for. You are protected. And most importantly, you are safe, okay? I'm not going to let anything happen to you.
We're going to breathe again one more time, okay? Ready? Breathe in.
One, two, three, four. Hold it for a second. And out.
One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. Excellent. You're doing such a great job.
Now, I want you to get some rest, okay? Not sleep, because sleep, when you feel like this, isn't always possible. But I want you to rest.
I want you to lay down and repeat the breathing if need be. I want you to listen to my voice over and over as many times as you need to, and know that I am right there with you. You will get through this.
It will get easier, okay? All of the things that you are dealing with, you are strong, and you will come out the other side. I believe in you.
I believe that you've got this. I know you do. Take care of yourself, my love, okay? Okay.
Just breathe. We're going to breathe again. Breathe in.
One, two, three, four. Hold it. And breathe out.
One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. Excellent job. You're doing so well.
Take a deep breath. Listen to my voice again and again if you need to, and just know that you are always, always safe. I love you.
