Motivation is actually something that you always have, let me explain...
It seems to be that you don't have motivation, and I am here to motivate you, but the way that I'm going to motivate you is by telling you the truth, and that can be very difficult to hear. So trust me when I say that everything that I am telling you, I am telling you because I want you to be successful. I want you to be happy more than anything else.
I want you to be happy for yourself, not for others' sake, but for yourself. So be wary of everything that I tell you, and be sure that when I tell you these things you are actually listening to yourself, and you are evaluating yourself properly. Motivation comes purely from a place of wanting to do things.
It doesn't mean that you are lazy because you don't want to do something. What it truly means is that you are just not interested in it. You don't have a passion there.
Your soul rejects it entirely. The majority of your soul does not want to deal with that. They don't truly want to be with it.
They want no part of it, and it is very difficult to understand that. The majority of the world tells us that when we are unmotivated it means that we are lazy, that we are procrastinators. Let me tell you another secret.
Procrastination is the fear of failure. Let that sink in for a moment. Really consider that.
If I am not wanting to try to paint that painting, is it really because I don't want to fail? Could it really be that? Yes.
The answer is yes. When you don't want to take that first step, when you don't want to fail, that in itself can be a very big hindrance and a problem, a major one at that. Because the reality is that failure is the best thing that could ever happen to you.
Failure is a conclusion. It is an answer, and it is much better to have an answer than to never try and never know. Now motivation has to be something that you are looking forward to.
It has to be something that you want to try. If your soul does not let you or doesn't want it, it just means that it's not for you. It's not your fault.
It's the world's fault for making you feel like you are just lazy. That is their fault. You must not let it affect you in that way, because then they win.
They win in telling you what you must and must not do, and unfortunately that is the way that the majority of people live. They live with the expectations of everybody's opinions, and those opinions being positive, when in reality those opinions do not matter. The only opinion, the only, listen to this, the only opinion that absolutely matters, that should have the complete weight of what you want to do, what you don't want to do, and your expectations upon being happy, is your opinion of yourself.
That is the only thing that matters. Everything else is just a bonus. Everything else can be maybe, maybe with a grain of salt, a road to which you can decide whether to do something or not.
If you ask all of your friends or your family a question for just to gauge what they think about it, whether to do something that you want to do, and you ask everybody and you tell them, hey I want to do this, what do you think, and everybody says, no, I don't think you should do that, literally everybody says no, but in your heart you want to. That is why you are asking them. In your heart everything screams yes, that you must, that this is something that you must do, that it is what is calling you to do it, then are you really going to listen to them?
Are you really going to let them stop you from achieving something that might make you completely happy, that might give your soul happiness? The reality is that nobody can give you happiness, you can only give yourself happiness. And you are capable of a lot more than you think, much more.
You just have to give yourself a shot at it. You have to give yourself an opportunity to achieve these things because nobody else will give you the opportunity, you must take it. It is there for you to take.
Our own mind is the only thing that stands in between you achieving something as long as you give it your all and perseverance. Failure is an answer, it does not mean that it has to be the final answer. You can fail a hundred, a thousand, a million times at something, but all you need is that one success, that is all you need.
We are never taught that are we, we are always taught to fear failure, but they never teach us that the reality of the situation is that success is only once, you only need it once. I believe it was Thomas Edison that said that all he needed to do was fail as many times as possible in different ways in order to find the one way in which light bulbs would work. In other words, I could fail two thousand times, but all I need is to not fail once, and I found it.
So do not be afraid, motivation is there for you, all you need to find is the proper thing that you are motivated for. It might be something that you have always wanted to do, but you have never let yourself do it. Think about that for a moment, there's always been excuses, hasn't there, there's always been not enough of this, not enough of that, it's not the right time, I don't have enough money.
If you truly want to do something, you will do it. If you really want water, like you're really thirsty for it, your body is aching for water, you'll get up, you'll go to the kitchen, and you'll get water, it's that simple. If you truly need it, you'll do it.
Now that big difference of finding those moments where you do not know if you will succeed, don't let that stop you, because like I said before, failure will be your answer, but it does not have to be the final one, it is merely a conclusion to that one chance you took. So all you have to do is keep going at it, and not quitting. Common sense plays a really big part in all this.
There are things that are very easy for most people, or for very few people, in other cases, to determine whether or not it will work out, or it will. It also depends on how much you want something. It depends on how much you are willing to give in order to get it.
It depends on the importance of it to you, not to the world, but to you. And most of the time it is very difficult to understand and to calibrate that. Unfortunately, only you can know that.
So again, don't let these things stop you. Motivation has always been there, you're just looking in the wrong place. So go out, take a moment, study yourself, and find the things that truly are important to you, nobody else, just you.
