I am a werewolf. I normally keep track of the lunar cycles. But since we got together, I've been so happy that I haven't been keeping track of the lunar dates, but.

Well, I kind of had to drink the blood of another werewolf in order to become one. No. Fortunately, the whole transformation into a werewolf by being eaten by one is a myth.

Don't believe what you see on TV. Only the blood of a beast can make another beast. What made me decide to be a werewolf? Well, first.

And I was born in an era where medicine wasn't as developed as it is today. You see, I became sick with the Black Plague and, well. ..

I was dying. My father didn't want me to die. I was all he had left.

I was his whole world. None of the so-called plague doctors could help. So my father became desperate.

One night he took me in his arms and carried me into the woods. He prayed to Runos, lord of all beasts and personification of nature's wrath. He asked if he would spare my life and then he would offer me to be one of his children.

The werebeast. Runos appeared in the form of a wolf. At first my father was going to run until they both spoke.

Runos said that he would grant my father's request and that he won't bite himself in order to bleed so that I may drink his blood and be restored. And, well, that's what happened. The next morning I was completely better.

I felt better than I ever had. I had phenomenal strength, extraordinary healing abilities and heightened senses. But there was, of course, a downside.

One night on a full moon I transformed into my wolf form. I couldn't control it at first and I ended up running far into the night. When the sun rose I turned back into normal.

And when I returned home, though, I found my father was dead. Not from me, but from the plague. He was sick the whole time I was, but still was more concerned about me than he was for me.

For himself. I'll miss him so much. It hurt me so bad when I lost him.

I didn't want to grow attached to anyone else again. But then I met you. You were so kind and so gentle.

You reminded me so much of my father. I tried to stay away, but I couldn't. And when you asked me out, I couldn't resist anymore.

I'm sorry that you had to find out this way. I wouldn't blame you if you didn't want to be with me anymore. You love me.

You mean Runos? Well, I understand you not knowing anything about him. It's not like he's in any history books or anything.

Well, he is one of the two personifications of nature. The other is his female counterpart, named Ciri. Ciri is a personification of nature's fertility, peace, and abundance.

She blesses those who strive to preserve nature and even contribute to it. However, nature does have its dark side. And that would be the necessary evil, Runos.

He is nature's wrath against those who mistreat nature. Like those who would cause deforestation, extinction of species, pollution, and so on. Sort of like an anti-hero Captain Planet, one might say.

Minus the mullet. Anyway, he made more of a beast in order to bring wrath against humanity. Seems though humans have often mistreated nature the most.

Well, they're the only ones to mistreat nature, actually. And to make sure we fulfill our bargain of becoming one of his children, he made it so the full moon would have us forced into an involuntary transformation. Which is why I transformed tonight.

Normally I wouldn't have much control, but fortunately, the older a werewolf gets, the better control we have. I appreciate your concern, sweetheart, remember? But I told you not to trust what you hear on TV and in the movies.

Silver and wolf's pain don't have any effect on me. The only way to truly kill a werewolf is to dismember and disintegrate us, while we're in our human forms. Fortunately, most of humanity thinks we're just a myth.

What do I mean when I said we're a beast? You really do pay attention. While different cultures around the world may manifest into different werecreatures, like in Africa, it's a werehyena.

In South America, it's a werecat. In Egypt, it's a werecrocodile. And so on.

All of us werebeasts are very rare, though. Usually taken the form of the most fearsome predators in the areas we dwell in. So it's only predators.

So no werelams or weredeer. The most fearsome creature within a hundred miles of where I lived, when I first transformed, were in fact wolves. Thus why I became a werewolf instead of any of the other creatures that I previously mentioned.

I know I've never met any of you ever were a beast, or even an ever werewolf. However, any of the children of Runos can communicate with them at any time. Hence why we don't go into any of this blind.
