Hey there kiddo how are you doing yeah okay well how was your day no I mean I know you very well and I can tell you didn't have that good of a day but if there's anything you want to talk about if you want to talk about it if you don't want to talk about it I'm here for you okay I mean we have the right home might as well talk about it if you want to I always find what do I always say that's right not talking about things just buries them mm-hmm and if you don't talk about them they're gonna come up either way some other day so you might as well just unload them okay and I'm here for that I'm here to listen to you not to try to fix it unless you want me to but I am here to just listen and sometimes sometimes that's all it takes all it takes is just someone to listen to it listen to whatever problem whatever's on your mind and I'm here for that okay so if you decide to talk about it then I'll be glad to listen however there is another thing maybe you don't want to talk about it right now maybe you want to talk about it later right well what if I tell you something about my day that way takes your mind off of what you're you know worrying about how does that sound all right kiddo I got you so something did happen today though at work they finally put my favorite soda in the vending machine yep yep the one I've always been wanting they finally put it well Hank Hank I told him about it and he said that he'd make a call to the company you know the vending machine company and see what he could do since I have the most sales in the office it's only natural that he wants to make me happy right and either way I appreciate that because what do I also always say it's the little things that's right that's what you always every single day you got to take some time for yourself you know that's why I tell you these things and I want you to really understand that happiness isn't isn't what people think it is you know money can make life easier and material things that can make you happy in the moment but it's the little things the gratitude for those little things that'll make you really happy okay and you're not a little thing so I get to have you in my life and I appreciate you so much and I adore you but I do have to have my little things that make me personally happy and you know how happy that sort of makes me you know so he was able to you know call and install it so now I get to have my little happiness my little 10 minutes of happiness every day with my break and get a soda yeah well what's that yeah of course of course whatever you want if you want to talk about it now you go right ahead absolutely and hey remember what I told you you let me know if you want me to give you my opinion if you want me to try to solve this whatever it is you let me know but if you just want me to listen that's what I'm here for okay so you take your time and say whatever it is that's bothering you I'll listen mm-hmm yeah yeah mm-hmm um I don't remember that refresh my memory refresh my memory yeah uh-huh mmm right right oh okay yeah hmm hmm okay I mean actually could you repeat that I just want to make sure that I understand it okay just repeat it I didn't really understand that last part so just repeat it again for me thank you kiddo yeah okay okay now I understand yeah now I understand um well I mean do you want me to do you just want to say that you know you just want to get it off your chest yeah okay well that's great and hey look at me look at me thank you for sharing this with me okay I am always here to listen to you I am always here to make sure that you're okay and that whatever you need I'm your dad all right I'm your father this is my job you're my responsibility and apart from all of that I love you I love the person that you've become and who you're becoming because like I also always say we're always changing and we're always getting trying to get better okay so I love you I love you very much I'm so proud of you if you want to talk more in depth about this later you know or we can have a conversation about it when you feel like you're ready to do that then then we can okay yeah all right kiddo I love you what do you want to eat mom isn't gonna be home until much later so we can we can get something out of fast food or we could stop at a restaurant if you want I'll get you whatever you want and then afterwards we have to go get ice cream because not for you but for me because you know I love ice cream so yeah of course I'll get you ice cream but it's because of me that we're going so if your mom asks just tell her dad forced us to get ice cream okay all right all right kiddo what would you like.
