Observe the little things. The salty air, hanging heavy in the horizon. Seagulls singing in the distance. Cool mist on your skin.

I want to take you on a journey. Take you away. First, I want you to relax.

Lie down somewhere comfortable. Slowly allow your body to be free of any weight, any strain you felt throughout the day. Close your eyes and breathe deeply with me.

Take a big breath all the way in, and slowly feel the air deep, low into your belly, and gradually exhale, nice and slow, releasing any tension, any stress, fully relaxing your body. Again, deep breath in, deep breath out, deep breath in, deep breath out. Continue that rhythm, allowing your face to relax.

Any tension around the eyes is loosening, around your mouth is softening. You're feeling warm, beautiful, easy feelings. You're comfortable, not just where you are, but who you are and what you are.

An incredible woman, an amazing person that anyone would be lucky to know. Now, maybe there's a little smile on your face, and if there isn't, there should be. There's a smile on mine.

Can you hear it? It's an amazing thing that we can hear a smile. I love that.

Now, I said we were going to go somewhere. We are. Now that we're both relaxed, I want to take you to the ocean.

Take you to a day where nothing could go wrong. Perhaps this day has never even happened yet, but one day it will, or one day it has. Imagine yourself with me.

We're approaching a large, grassy hill. Climbing up and over the crest, we finally get our first good look at the ocean. Blue and aquamarine colors.

Turquoise waves meet frothy white. The sand is glowing brown and golden. We feel a warm breeze hit us.

Can't help but become excited. It's incredible. So raw, so natural.

Quickly, we both run towards the ocean, drawing us in. It has that effect on people. As much as we consider ourselves land creatures, we're still so drawn to the sea.

Something about it. Before you get closer, you stop, take a good look at the ocean. You see it for what it is.

But not just that. With your eyes closed, you also hear it. Really hear it.

The rhythmic crashing and breathing of waves upon stone, upon earth. And you can smell it too. Taking in that one-of-a-kind scent.

That raw, salty bliss. You can feel it too. Its energy is strong.

It's more powerful than us. You revel in it. That profound feeling where land meets sea.

Where one world leads to the next. It's incredible. I look at you, with your eyes shut, enjoying the moment.

Enjoying it so much. Like a child on her first trip to the ocean. Finally, you take the last two steps towards the water.

Wriggle your toes in the soft, sandy pebbles on the shoreline. Feel that cool, wet feeling as it touches your skin. You look to me and smile so bright, so joyful.

I take a picture in my mind so I'll never forget. You look amazing. So vibrant.

So alive. Literally glowing under the sun. Under the swaying trees that line the edge of this postcard-perfect view.

You feel confident. You feel ready to take on the world. Any fragment of tension is forgotten.

Nothing but positive vibes cross your mind in this very moment. Serendipitous and serene. We walk along the shore's edge then, for what seems like forever.

Going as far as the eye can see in one direction. Occasionally, looking back to see our footsteps in the soft sand washed away by the ever-present waves, almost as if we were never there at all. But it's all so real.

The ocean devours your senses, overcoming each and every one of them, having its way with you, pleasuring you, delighting you, taking you away. You look out to the ocean, really look out, as far as possible, wondering what's out there. And as if on cue, you see the misty blow of a faraway whale.

And at first, you want to keep it to yourself, because I haven't noticed yet. Then you can't wait to share, because you know I'll love it too. The animal comes up again for air, and we both watch now, and can hear it faintly.

Breathing in our world, and yet living in its own underwater paradise. It's amazing. So removed from where we stand, and yet breathing the same fresh air, relying upon it just like us.

We pause and soak in the sight, as its tail briefly reflects the sun before diving deep back into the depths of the ocean. You feel that wave, not from the sea, but from the moment, from the feeling that everything is right. It's all so simple.

Looking now to the birds flying above, weaving and diving towards the sea. They're so graceful and calculated, yet so spontaneous and sporadic in their movements. The ease of their flight.

Their seamless transition from land to air to sea. You marvel at the thought of it and put yourself in their shoes, in their wings. High above now, and looking down at this peaceful scene below.

It's all a matter of perspective, and how we look at things. Not how they see you, but how you see yourself. Sitting down now in the warm sand, and lying back with your eyes closed, you breathe deep in, and out again.

In, and out again.
