Okay, let me ask you a question. Last week, we kind of went stargazing, right? Kind of because we got rained out.

Obviously that was a date. We've seen each other almost every day since then. So do all those count as dates too? I don't know.

We didn't do anything special, we just kind of hung out. I think they don't. I think that the stargazing cancels the date.

Well, it was different because it was planned and because there was ice cream at the end. That's exactly what makes it a date. It has to have ice cream.

Have you not noticed a trend when we go out? Apart from that one. And that one.

Okay, well, maybe it's not a trend. I may just be making up the rules as I go along. Do you agree? That was our last date and this is our next one, yeah? I'm so glad you came with me.

It was very nice of you to agree to get up so early on a Saturday. This worked out nice, I think. You know, I've known of this scenic byway for a long time.

I've wanted to drive it, but just kind of never got around to it. Bringing you gave me an excuse. This time of year is so beautiful up here, don't you think? The fall colors, the temperature is just perfect.

I mean, can you imagine a better day for a picnic out here? Neither can I. Neither can I.

I'm glad we avoided tragedy, geez, when that rabbit ran across the road. I thought, I mean, there was no way I could stop. I'm just glad the thing got out of the way fast enough.

I'm glad I decided not to go the same way I swerved. Let me tell you, there was a time a few years back when I was working very late and my commute took me through kind of a wooded area. And on the way home, there were a bunch of deer right by the side of the road, plus one on the road.

They don't say deer in the headlights for nothing. They froze. And I was able to swerve around that thing, everything was okay, but I tell you what, I got a little bit further down the road and I had to pull over and stop and just catch my breath.

I was like, it would have been tragic enough to hit the rabbit, but hitting a deer, that would have hurt not only the deer, but it would have really messed me up too. I wouldn't say I relived it today, but it certainly did make me remember the experience. Glad we avoided all that.

This has been really nice. Like I said, it was an early start for a Saturday, but worth it, I think. Gave us time to drive a couple hours out here, enjoy the scenery, and be ready for lunch.

Pleasantly surprised by the food I brought. What's so surprising about that? Oh please, is it really surprising that I listen to the things you say? You should be pretty clear by now that I do listen to you.

Let me put it this way. Last weekend, stargazing, rained out, went to my place. Did you really think it was a coincidence that I just happened to have your favorite flavor of ice cream in my freezer?

I like it, but it's not my favorite. Well, no, it wasn't a coincidence. I didn't know we were going to end up at my place, but here's the thing.

I'd taken a look at the forecast ahead of time. Well, of course, I mean, stargazing doesn't work if it's cloudy. So I'd taken a look at the forecast, and I knew there was a chance of rain later on in the evening.

And so I wanted to make a contingency plan in case we got rained out. So just in case that contingency plan involved going back to my place, I got your favorite ice cream. No, I don't always plan for contingencies that way.

I've got a confession to make. I don't know, maybe this one will surprise you, too. Look, back when we were at the festival, you know, I had wanted to get some privacy with you, wanted to have a chat, wanted to kiss you, wanted to take that next step in our relationship.

And I, you know, no, your friends are great, I really do like them, it's just their timing still sucks. Well, when I was getting ready for the stargazing date, I really had hopes of taking that next step, since we were going to finally be on our own, have some privacy, no distractions, no interruptions. I really wanted to take that next step with you.

And I planned for contingencies because I wanted to make sure that nothing got in our way. I wanted to be ready for anything, you know, because it's that important to me. You know, I, the more I get to know you, the more I want to keep getting to know you.

It's like the opposite of getting bored, the more time I spend, the more I want to spend, the closer I want to get. You're always on my mind. And you know, I just, I look forward to every chance I get to be with you.

I really do. You're a pretty amazing woman, you know. No, I'm serious, I'm not just flattering you.

I really respect and admire the way that you carry yourself, the types of decisions you make, the types of friends you have, just let me talk. I love your friends, I've told you this, I'm not just flattering you, they're terrific. And the company that you keep is reflective of the kind of person that you are.

I think it tracks like, you have quality friends because you're a quality lady. I think you're very talented, you're very intelligent, you're witty, it's a lot of fun to be around. And I'm not going to lie, you do happen to be a really good kisser.

Mmm. I just find myself thinking about you more and more. I really like you.

No, like, I like like you. If the kissing wasn't enough, if the snuggling wasn't enough, then let me tell you verbally, I really like you. I, I want to continue developing this relationship, deepening this relationship.

And so I'll confess now, that when we left today, .
